How long can I see the NailKnowledge course?
You have lifetime access to the course and can repeat it as many times as you want.
Is this course accredited?
New. Regulated and unregulated (accredited) courses are Qualifications. NailKnowledge is a SUPPORT or learning tool for a qualification. It is knowledge and understanding and does not include the practical or application skills required for any qualification in the professional nail industry. NailKnowledge issues its own Diploma, but it shows very clearly what has been achieved. The topics covered by NailKnowledge follow National Occupational Standards tightly, and are often broader. There is no reason why the quality assurance of both regulated and non-regulated qualifications will not accept the NK Diploma as proof of the required knowledge of these subjects.
What is the best way to learn from NailKnowledge
The course is designed to use any learning style: the written word, narration and animations to bring the topics to life. We recommend that you DO NOT go through it as soon as possible! This doesn't make the best use of it. Take it easy and take notes, draw diagrams and don't move on until you think you understand the topic covered. The Knowledge Points and Knowledge Tests will help you with this. You can review the lessons and segments as many times as you want. We recommend that you do the entire course again after a few months to make sure that the knowledge has stayed with you.
How long will the course take?
There are 3 Masterclasses with 5 or 6 Lessons each, 16 in total. Lessons are from 10 minutes to over 30 minutes. You can decide for yourself how long you want to study. There's over 5 hours of video to enjoy, but there are many knowledge points and quizzes to pass before you can move on. We recommend that you take your time and watch the lessons a few times to get the most out of the course.
What happens if I miss part of the lesson?
There is a scroll bar at the bottom of each segment. Allows you to scroll back and forth in each segment. However, it is not possible to skip the Knowledge Points or Knowledge Tests if you have not yet passed them.
What are Knowledge Points?
These are short interactive learning checks related to the segment you just watched. They must be met with a 100% pass rate to move to the next segment.
What happens if I don't pass the Knowledge Point?
You have 2 attempts at the knowledge point. If you fail both, go back to the beginning of the segment to relearn.
What are Knowledge Tests?
These are tests of 5 questions at the end of each lesson. They will be marked 'correct' or 'false' as you answer. This must be achieved with 100% before being able to continue to the next lesson or masterclass.
What happens if I fail the Knowledge Test?
You can try this as many times as you need.
What is the diploma exam?
This is a 30 question exam on each of the Masterclasses. To achieve this you need to achieve 80%. A table will be created that will let you know how you did for each topic
What happens if I don't pass the diploma exam?
You will be offered another attempt and the table produced will show you in which areas you have failed. We recommend that you review the specific lessons to make sure you understand the topic. If you fail the 2nd attempt, you will not be able to retake it for 2 weeks, so use the time to return to the course
What happens if I pass my diploma exam?
Your diploma certificate will be generated, after which you can download and print it.
Can I also follow the course on my phone or tablet?
Yes you can, but we recommend using a tablet or computer and the 'full screen' facility to get the best learning experience.
The program is not working properly and keeps skipping!
This program is best viewed with the Chrome browser. If it still doesn't run smoothly, we recommend that you clear your cache as it may cause a problem. There are more detailed instructions if needed to help you with this problem.
Can I send this course to my friends?
No that is not possible. The course is only allowed for a single user. The system picks up if a user is still logged in, he cannot use all knowledge tests and cannot obtain his own Diploma.
